Everyone is invited! Come and participate with other homeschool families in our community, whether you are new to SHG, or you’ve been a part of the SHG for a long time. We’ll Ice Skate together at the new Kraken Community Iceplex and celebrate kindness and friendship with a fun Valentine’s Day Exchange.
What: SHG Valentine’s Day exchange and Ice Skating at the Kraken!
When: Thursday, 2/9/2023
Where: Seattle Kraken Iceplex, 10601 5th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98125
Ice Skate Time: 11 AM – 12:00 PM,
Valentine’s Exchange: 12:00 PM – 12:30PM
Cost: $11 per ice skater, fee includes access to rink and skate rentals. If you are not skating, you don’t need to pay.

Here are the details to participate and what to do before the event:
1. Sign-up by 2/7/23 using this form: https://forms.gle/XFNUWdY6Xf4UkQbTA
2. Make or buy 20-30 valentines to exchange with friends. Handmade or store-bought, or some combination of both, creativity is encouraged! *On 2/7/23, I will send out a final count of valentines.Sign your name on the valentines but keep the “TO” section generic or blank. To protect and respect folks with nut/food allergies and restrictions, please, no candy or food on the Valentine.
3. Prepare a Valentine's box or container (with your name on it) big enough to hold 20-30 valentines. Keep it simple, or go wild with decorating it! Plan to bring one box for each participating child or one box per family.
4. Pay for Ice Skating: We are getting a group rate to skate $11 per person (normally $16), which includes rental skates and admission. *If you are not skating, you don’t need to pay. We are collecting payment via PayPal, search for our group name, 'Seattle Homeschool Group' or by email address at: treasurer@seattlehomeschoolgroup.org
Exchange Details & what to do at the Kraken:
When you arrive at the Kraken Community Iceplex, check in at the front desk. Tell them you are with the Seattle Homeschool Group. You will pick up your ice skate rentals, and they will tell you what rink to go into.
As you arrive, there will be tables set up in the ice rink where you will place your Valentine’s box.
Kids will skate between 11 AM – 12 PM
Valentine's exchange will be between 12 PM-12:30 PM, ending at 12:30 PM
At 12:30 PM please pick up your filled boxes of Valentines on your way out of the rink!
